Once all inspection issues have been settled, we can now move to the final phase towards closing on your new home. Since you already have been pre-approved for a loan, you must now obtain a final mortgage commitment. Typically, this can take up to 30 to 45 days, with a target date for obtaining the mortgage commitment specified in the purchase agreement.

Your attorney will also start the process of ordering the survey, title work, title insurance (a one time fee) and anything else required for closing.

You should also begin looking for homeowners insurance at this time.

I can supply you with recommended insurance companies.
